Clubs NZ
Clubs NZ is the national body that provides administrative and business services to member clubs throughout New Zealand. They oversee over 300 clubs, with a combined membership of 270,000.
Clubs NZ wants to add value to their member clubs by creating a national membership database. This database will provide Clubs NZ with a comprehensive overview of everything from the average age of club members to interests and hobbies.
Aims and Objectives
Clubs NZ will gather membership data from disparate club databases, and provide a robust mechanism to allow Clubs NZ to issue cards and manage data.
- Clubs NZ desire to ultimately have a single source of all membership data
- Provide Clubs with the ability to order club membership cards online in a simple & efficient manner. Also reducing the cost of membership cards as they are all ordered at bulk prices through Eyede
- In the long term, to create a national loyalty scheme, leveraging business partners and giving all club members extended benefits
Our Solution
Using Eyede’s Secure Online Management System (eSOMS), Eyede will deliver an end-to-end credential management solution for Clubs NZ and Clubs throughout New Zealand.
Some of the eSOMS features include:
- Each member Club is responsible for collection and management of their own members' data. Clubs will have the ability to upload their membership data online and at the same time order their cards.
- Ability to synchronise and distribute customer data through one centralised source to a specified manufacturer using eSOMS card production module.
- Clubs can take advantage of a generic Club Card design, incorporating their own Club Logo and a photo if required, or can provide their own artwork to Clubs NZ.
- Card production for all Clubs is centralised through Eyede’s data management and card production application.
- PAF validation of all records entered (PAF is the Postal Address File managed by NZ Post).
- CSV file import/export.
- Full track and trace on all card orders placed.
Success Factors
- The net result of this would be a National database of 270,000 club members.
- Clubs NZ will have the ability to inform all clubs and club members with what is happening within Clubs New Zealand on a regular basis. Everyone would benefit from the information that could be provided whether it was the latest club sporting event or the AGM report.
- It is also a hugely compelling reason in the future for Clubs NZ to bring Retailers on board to a national loyalty scheme, and also is a great selling tool for Clubs NZ.

Eyede is well established in the secondary school market providing Student Identification card requirements to a significant number of schools across New Zealand through the eSOMS software product.
Resene Paints
Resene Paints operates a loyalty type ColorShop card for customers. This card provides the customer buying privileges when purchasing products from a Resene ColorShop. A customer was able to sign up for a card at a Resene ColorShop. The customer details were entered into the system and a card was issued to them within 10 working days.
Wellesley Boutique Hotel
WBH wanted to offer guests and members extra benefits of "belonging" through the use of an integrated database and card system, with the card acting as physical ID, the mechanism for achieving the benefit, and allowing after hours secure access to the Hotel facilities.
Ministry of Social Development
Eyede, in partnership with Unisys and the NZ Automobile Association, were contracted to provide both the SuperGold and Community Services Cards for the Ministry of Social Development.
Snapper's Integrated Public Transport Ticketing Scheme
Snapper has established an integrated ticketing and small value payments system capability and implemented an integrated ticketing system for NZ Bus in Wellington. Eyede is responsible for many parts of the solution and has been leading the technology development for over twelve months.
Fish and Game New Zealand
Fish & Game New Zealand were looking to streamline the manner in which licences were sold as well as to implement a centralised database solution so individual regions did not have to maintain their own.
