Ministry of Social Development
In August 2007, The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) launched a SuperGold Card free to all eligible senior citizens and veterans in recognition of the contribution they have made, and continue to make to New Zealand society. At 512,000 cards, this was the largest single card issuance in NZ history. The SuperGold Card provides access to a wide range of business discounts nationwide, and facilitates easy access to government entitlements and local authority services and concessions. It also replaces both the Community Services Card and NZ Super Card currently issued to New Zealand Superannuation and Veteran's Pension recipients.
Eyede, in partnership with Unisys and the NZ Automobile Association, were contracted to provide both the SuperGold and Community Services Cards for the Ministry of Social Development. The consortium provided the following services:

The Challenge
The main challenges that Eyede faced were:
- Complexity and scale with the validation and accurate data capture for 512,000 records.
- Time frame from receipt of data to mail out of the credentials was six weeks.
- 512,000 cards had to be stored and released on the same day with any deceased records to be removed.
Our Solution
Eyede configured a solution that enabled MSD to capture and match photo's to files for the production of a personalised plastic card on a scale not seen in New Zealand before. The eSOMS solution interfaced easily with the MSD system to be able to receive an electronic feed of all customer records for a credential to be produced. Once received, the data was able to be validated, duplications removed and credentials produced in a three week window. Data was able to be managed by easily removing deceased records. The total elapsed time from MSD's RFP being issued to the solution being operational was less than 6 months.
Success Factors
The critical success factors were the accuracy of data, the speed of issuance and the ability to despatch on one release date.

Eyede is well established in the secondary school market providing Student Identification card requirements to a significant number of schools across New Zealand through the eSOMS software product.
Resene Paints
Resene Paints operates a loyalty type ColorShop card for customers. This card provides the customer buying privileges when purchasing products from a Resene ColorShop. A customer was able to sign up for a card at a Resene ColorShop. The customer details were entered into the system and a card was issued to them within 10 working days.
Wellesley Boutique Hotel
WBH wanted to offer guests and members extra benefits of "belonging" through the use of an integrated database and card system, with the card acting as physical ID, the mechanism for achieving the benefit, and allowing after hours secure access to the Hotel facilities.
Ministry of Social Development
Eyede, in partnership with Unisys and the NZ Automobile Association, were contracted to provide both the SuperGold and Community Services Cards for the Ministry of Social Development.
Snapper's Integrated Public Transport Ticketing Scheme
Snapper has established an integrated ticketing and small value payments system capability and implemented an integrated ticketing system for NZ Bus in Wellington. Eyede is responsible for many parts of the solution and has been leading the technology development for over twelve months.
Fish and Game New Zealand
Fish & Game New Zealand were looking to streamline the manner in which licences were sold as well as to implement a centralised database solution so individual regions did not have to maintain their own.
Clubs NZ
Clubs NZ wants to add value to their member clubs by creating a national membership database, this database will provide Clubs NZ with a comprehensive overview of everything from the average age of club members to interests and hobbies.
